Lions Gate Says Warranty Contracts are MVDA Compliant

OAKVILLE, Ontario — Officials with Lions Gate Marketing Co., which provides extended warranty, group credit insurance and auto theft deterrent products, said earlier this week that all of the company's extended warranty contracts comply with the new Motor Vehicle Dealers Act, 2002, which takes effect on Jan. 1.
As most know, the MVDA, 2002 mandates — among other requirements — that all dealerships and salespersons run their businesses in accordance with the act, and this includes business office products sold at dealerships.
LGM said it has been working the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council to make sure that contracts under LGM's Secure suite of products comply with the act's stipulations.
Officials added that OEM private-labeled products, which include the Volkswagen Protection Plus and the Kia Extended Protection Plan, do not have to comply with the MVDA.
"All dealers and business office managers can trust that by selling our products and following the new MVDA regulations, their extended warranty paperwork will be compliant," noted Randy Price, president of LGM.
"This compliance is made even easier by using LGM's Dealer Resource Centre, allowing business managers to electronically populate contracts and digitally calculate monthly remittances including additional requirements included in the MVDA act," Price continued.
