ATLANTA — For dealers who want some vehicle activity between rounds of turkey, Manheim put together a special event schedule spanning the entire Thanksgiving holiday.
A preview for the Hertz Thanksgiving Weekend Online Event Sale will run from Wednesday through Friday. Manheim will operate the sale from 9 a.m. ET on Saturday until 5 p.m. ET on Monday.
Auction officials expect this event to be the largest Hertz sale of the year. They predict more than 4,000 units to be available, including an exclusive allotment of low-mileage vehicles.
"Dealers have never had less leisure time, yet quality of life isn't something we should neglect, especially over the holidays," Manheim executives insisted.
"Stock up on used inventory from the comfort of your home office and never lose momentum," they went on to say.
When the calendar turns to December, Manheim also plans to roll out several other holiday-oriented, dealer-friendly events and sales.
One example is Manheim opting to extend its buyback program for dealers in its GM lane. Manheim chose to extend this guaranteed seven-day buyback on purchases through Dec. 31. That program covers units both in-lane and secured online.
Furthermore, Manheim anticipates details about an All-Dealer Online Sales Event coming sometime in December. Sellers will get to feature their inventory during special online events, and buyers will receive the first crack at fresh inventory from across the country. Manheim officials said they will share specifics at their Web site.
When detailing its preparations for the holiday, Manheim reminded dealers about its other offerings that can help as the year winds down.
Officials pointed out that Manheim's partners can help dealers in a host of ways. Some of the topics they mentioned were consulting, business analysis and one-call customer care
The auction company also mentioned the capabilities of OVE.com to participate in other special online sales events during holiday seasons. Dealers can be involved in simulcasts of sales at other auctions. For example, officials pointed out that the Thanksgiving Day Sale at Manheim Pennsylvania is one of the operation's largest ones of the year.
Finally, Manheim talked again about how dealers can obtain a wealth of online auction education materials at two of its related Web sites. Dealers can learn more about the entire process at http://www.thewholesaleinstitute.com/ or how to become an expert in online sales through Manheim by going to http://www.manheimsellertoolkit.com/.
"The world may be getting smaller as technology connects us to far flung corners of the globe, but technical innovation also means wholesale buyers and sellers can cast a net that literally pulls in customers from every corner of the planet," Manheim stressed.
"If you're not registered to tap into the many benefits of online auctions, resolve to take advantage of all the tools at your disposal in 2010," the auction company concluded.
