SANTA MONICA, Calif. — According to Edmunds.com, deals are readily available this Black Friday and throughout the Thanksgiving weekend.
In fact, the company has apparently determined that almost 100 new cars now cost less (or nearly the same as) one-year old used counterparts.
Some vehicles on this list include:
—2009 BMW 328i
—2009 Cadillac CTS
—2009 Chevrolet Corvette
—2009 Ford Expedition EL Eddie Bauer
—2009 Honda Civic Hybrid
—2009 Cheep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara
—2009 Lexus GS 450h
—2009 Mazda CX-9 Sport
—2009 Mini Cooper Convertible
—2009 Toyota RAV4
The complete list of vehicles, along with typical monthly payments and savings compared to used-car purchases can be found at www.edmunds.com/industry-car-news/new-vs-used-car-buying.html.
Edmunds.com also offers a feature that allows site visitors to see whether prices on new cars of interest are expected to go up or now. According to officials, The True Market Value Predicted Price Trends list suggests that prices on most vehicles will continue to fall back after Black Friday weekend.
"Dealers are determined to clear out their old inventory, so there is a lot of room for negotiation on all 2009 models," noted Philip Reed, senior consumer advice editor. "But anyone looking for a bargain should be exploring their choices now, since the inventory will keep getting more limited as time passes."
