CARY, N.C. — Auction executives, auto manufacturers, dealerships, banks and financial organizations and technology-related companies can all stand to gain by helping connect the wholesale and retail segments of the remarketing industry.
With sunny southern California as a beautiful backdrop, these vital industry players can come together, connect and learn how to boost profits at the National Remarketing Conference & Used Car Expo, presented by the Auto Remarketing Forum Series.
The used-car industry's premier event will be held Oct. 22-24 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.
Further details will be announced in upcoming Auto Remarketing e-newsletters, but highlights of the conference's lineup include the following:
—As a strong emphasis of the conference this year will focus the remarketing perspectives from the dealer body, several dealership leaders will be participating in panel discussions including: Danny Papakalos, used-car director for AutoNation; Bob Andersen, used-car director of Bergstrom Automotive; Mike Baker, chief executive officer of Bob Baker Automotive; and Adam Simms, dealer principal for Toyota Sunnyvale/Scion Sunnyvale.
—Pete Grady, director of fleet and remarketing operations for Chrysler, will deliver one of the keynote addresses.
—Other executive speakers and panelists scheduled to present so far include Linda Silverstein, manager for remarketing and rental operations at Ford, and Steve Piccinati, senior vice president of remarketing for Bank of America, with many more to come.
—Additionally, there will be a special panel discussion that features international auction executives, "Green, Globalization and Gas — The impact of green initiatives, globalization and gas prices on wholesale markets in North America and around the world."
The panel, which includes David Munnikhuysen, Manheim's vice president of best practices, among others, can offer attendees insight into how these economic and ecological issues impact the wholesale industry from both a national and global perspective.
—Similar to past conferences, NRC will feature an awards program, as ALG honors its Lease Residual Award Winners and IntelliChoice.com announces its OEM CPO Award Winners.
"There is already a stellar lineup of speakers and presenters scheduled for NRC, both from the wholesale and retail sides of the remarketing industry," commented Bill Zadeits, conference co-chair.
"With a strong emphasis on the dealer-body perspective in the remarketing world, a special forum devoted to global wholesale issues and much more, attendees from every segment of the industry will come away from the National Remarketing Conference with the necessary tools to improve their operations," Zadeits added.
Though July has just begun and summer has only started to crank up, it's never too early to think ahead — and save $200.
If you sign up by Sept. 22, registration fees are only $795, but after that date, it goes up to $995.
Until Sept. 29, discounted rates of $269 per night are available at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. To reserve a room, call 1-800-233-1234 and used the group code G-CPUN.
