PHOENIX — LIVE X Auto Exchange, a new online auto trading platform, is rolling out a pilot program that gives consumers the opportunity to buy and sell used vehicles while they shop at Walmart.
As part of an exclusive partnership, LIVE X is opening concept stores inside of two Phoenix-area Walmart Supercenters as part of the pilot. The two stores will be located in Chandler, Ariz., and Mesa, Ariz.
Officials expect this first phase of the LIVE X rollout to be completed shortly and project that 10-15 Walmart locations in Phoenix will feature LIVE X by next summer.
So, how does it work? Basically, when a customer visits a LIVE X store in Walmart, she signs up for an online personal trading account. This provides access to the electronic trading system, which allows the customer to buy and sell vehicles online directly via the store.
LIVE X Trading Assistants are stationed at the store to help consumers navigate the program, post vehicles for sale and find models to purchase.
"Our Walmart-based Trading Floors are essentially marketing centers for pre-owned vehicles, auto-related products and services, as well as for the all-new LIVE X brand," explained Patrick Dial, founder of LIVE X.
"Walmart customers who visit a LIVE X store can not only expedite the process of buying and selling a vehicle, but also enjoy a fun, easy and altogether different experience in the process," he continued. "And, they already know they'll get a great price. Given today's economic environment, I believe this is exactly the promise of value that car buyers everywhere have been looking for."
According to officials, LIVE X includes a "no haggle, one price" policy on most of its inventory. The program also provides consumers with a wide range of financing and insurance options, as well.
"We help customers leverage the power and efficiency of the Internet so buyers and sellers can find each other faster and without the normal cost structures of middlemen or the overhead of a dealership," Dial noted. "The LIVE X trading system puts control back in the hands of consumers and will change the way people think about the auto trading experience."
