LONDON, Ontario -

CarProof Vehicle History Reports announced this week it has made a “first of its kind” data agreement for the company.

Under the new agreement with Kia Canada, CarProof reports will now include open recall information Kia vehicles.

Recall information on a specific Kia vehicle will now appear directly on the CarProof vehicle history report, the company said.

CarProof said that Kia Canada is the first auto manufacturer to share this important recall data with the company.

When asked if similar partnerships will be pursued with other OEMs, Marty Meadows, vice president of data acquisition and strategic partnerships, told Auto Remarketing Canada, “Absolutely, and we have many that are looking to provide recall data.”

How will this move help CarProof’s customers?

“Offering this type of information to our dealers and consumer customers will provide considerable transparency in the used-car transaction. This critical data will ensure consumers feel confident in their purchase,” he said.

The partnership will make it easier for CarProof customers to see whether or not the Kia vehicle they're interested in has an outstanding recall when they order a CarProof vehicle history report.

“We're proud to partner with Kia Canada on this new data agreement,” said  Meadows. “This open recall data will help customers make an informed decision and as a result, they'll be purchasing that used vehicle with complete peace-of-mind.”
