TORONTO -

As Candian certified pre-owned sales numbers for April came rolling in, double-digit sales increases and best-ever months were shared across the drawing board, with one company notching its best April ever, and year-to-date sales increases in most every report Auto Remarketing Canada received.

Over at Volkswagen Canada, the company sold 1,310 CPO vehicles this past month, marking a 19.7-percent increase over the same period of 2012 and coming in as its best April ever.

“Another great CPO month for Volkswagen Canada, we are very pleased with the performance of our dealers and their continued support in Certified Pre-Owned sales.  This was our best April ever with a record 1,310 vehicles sold giving us a 17 percent increase year-over-year,” said Kelly Stewart, allocation and distribution specialist at VW Canada.

Overall, VW Canada has sold 4,538 CPO units year-to-date.

Highlighting another European luxury brand, Audi sold 510 CPO units this past month, up from 426 sold during the same month last year.

Over at Volvo, Emanuel Lichtinshtein, national fleet sales, CPO and remarketing manager, Volvo Cars of Canada Corp., was enthusiastic about the month's results: “The month of April saw the sale of 154 certified pre-owned models through Volvo Canada’s industry-leading CPO program, a 37.5-percent increase over March 2013.

“Premium car buyers continue to be attracted to our industry-leading offer that provides them a previously enjoyed vehicle with the peace of mind that comes with purchasing new,” he continued.

Year-to-date, Volvo Cars of Canada has sold 479 CPO units, a 24.4-percent increase from the same period of 2012.

As for the Japanese automakers, Toyota Canada saw a slight slide from 2012, notching 2,239 CPO sales this April, compared to 2,369 during the same period last year.

Year-to-date, the OEM has sold 7,215 CPO units, down from 8,288 during the same period of 2012.

For Mazda, the story was a bit different. Bryan Leaitch, CPO manager, told Auto Remarketing Canada that the brand sold 481 certified units this past month, up from 308 sold in April of 2012.

And the OEM had one more significant number to report, as well, with 1,700 CPO units sold in 2013 so far.
