Looking to the service lane for sales leads may not be a new idea in the dealership world, but two companies have joined forces to offer a new way to automate the process.

MPi and TEGA Technologies on Monday announced their partnership and the introduction of Service Turn, which they say is an automated way to increase revenue and customer retention in service departments.

MPi, which offers service department software EDGE WorldClass, will incorporate Service Turn as a new EDGE WorldClass accelerator, to be branded and marketed as EDGE Service Turn.

Service Turn, powered by TEGA Technologies, is a turnkey software solution that automates the way dealerships translate service customers into sales. 

Here’s how it works: Service Turn supports a process which generates a nightly report of all high value service appointments coming into the service drive the next day.

It integrates with book values, DMS and the dealership CRM, and identifies items including current payoff, equity and book value. Service Turn then integrates these customers into sales leads, and offers point of sales material, the companies said.

Service Turn reports that its dealers sell up to six times as many vehicles from their service drives, when compared to non-Service Turn dealers. And according MPi, in a recent study of more than 800 franchise dealerships using its system, EDGE WorldClass produced an average monthly up-sell from inspections of $81,996.
