CARY, N.C. -

Continuing their rounds across the country, the leadership of the National Auto Auction Association stopped by the offices of Auto Remarketing parent company Cherokee Automotive Group on Tuesday.

NAAA president Paul Lips was joined by chief executive officer Frank Hackett and president-elect Jack Neshe at the Cary, N.C., offices of CAG.

The association’s leaders have recently been making site visits to auctions and other companies, including a stop in the Atlanta area, where Neshe and Lips chatted with Black Book’s Ricky Beggs for his weekly video report on wholesale conditions.

One of the topics they discussed was their expectations for next year’s wholesale market.

“I’m excited,” Lips said during the interview. “I think this is the first time in four to five years we can look out at the next year and see the potential for growth. With new-car sales having rebounded for about three years in a row now; leasing is picking up, and it seems credit has loosened up a little bit.”
