The National Auto Auction Association revealed the dates it will conduct the Auction Standards Training Program throughout this year.

The first of the two-day sessions will take place at ADESA Toronto on Jan. 30 and Jan. 31. Other times and locations include:

—March 26 and 27 at Manheim Orlando: Damage Analysis Overview & Structural Damage Overview

—April 1 and 2 at ADESA Boston: Advanced Automotive Damage Analysis & Structural Damage Analysis

—May 1 and 2 at America's Auto Auction Chicago: Damage Analysis Overview & Structural Damage Overview

—August 18 and 19 at Manheim Dallas: Advanced Automotive Damage Analysis & Structural Damage Analysis

—October 15 and 16 at Brasher’s Sacramento: Damage Analysis Overview & Structural Damage Overview

NAAA officials highlighted the sessions are designed to deliver two information-packed days of hands-on training for condition report writers and arbitration managers.

Day one provides comprehensive instruction on writing condition reports, covering a wide range of issues including inspection and mechanical basics, vehicle sections, interiors, flood and hail damage, restraints and collision estimating guidelines.

The second day presents a thorough review of structural damage policy.

Classes will be taught by Matt Arias, director of operational excellence for Manheim, who is responsible for operational support and continuous improvement activities of lot operations and vehicle entry and arbitration departments. In addition, he serves as the intermediary for arbitration claims and mediation.

Arias also co-chairs the NAAA Standards Committee.

The cost is $385 for one day of the program, $700 for both days. Registration fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, and manuals.
