VIN Viper Adds NMVTIS Vehicle History Reports, Plans Compliance Solution for Calif. Dealers
Automotive solutions provider VIN Viper revealed late last week that dealers and customers who use its iPhone, Android and desktop platforms will now have access to vehicle history reports — an offering that may prove particularly useful, following some new California regulation laws on the books.
The company announced it has integrated National Motor Vehicle Title Information System Vehicle History Reports into its mobile and web offerings.
VIN Viper said it will make the reports available for purchase to all dealers and even consumers.
And with the new California Law AB1215 that went into effect July 1, “VIN Viper is excited to offer a compliance solution that is available to all California dealers,” officials noted.
The law states that now, any franchised or independent store in California that tries to retail a salvage unit must place a special sticker on the window and include the report from NMVTIS. For more information, see the Auto Remarketing story here.
The company listed there are two parts to its AB1215 compliance solution for dealers.
1) California dealers can use VIN Viper’s iPhone, Android or Desktop apps to access NMVTIS reports.
2) VIN Viper is offering packets of California approved "Warning Stickers" which are required on any vehicle sold at retail with derogatory NMVTIS information.
“We are really excited about our new NMVTIS product, and it’s really just another logical addition to our platform”, says Jason Seligman, president of VIN Viper.
“We know all of our dealers and consumers that use VIN Viper daily will see the benefit of a more cost effective vehicle history report. We're also pleased to help California dealers navigate the new AB1215 Law and get compliant. Going forward, we expect other states looking to protect their consumers to adopt NMVTIS as a legal requirement and we'll be ready." Seligman continued.
“VIN Viper is the only mobile appraising solution in the automotive segment that offers NMVTIS reports. Our success, growth and popularity are directly related to listening to our customers and developing products they need,” he concluded.
