DAYTON, Ohio -

On Tuesday, Reynolds and Reynolds launched a new solution called Mobile Used Vehicle Management (Mobile UVM), a new software application that can allow dealers to run the Reynolds Used Vehicle Management tool on any Apple iOS or Android device.

Reynolds explained that it developed Mobile UVM to help dealership staffers work smarter and more efficiently in their front-end used-vehicle process.

As a product in the Reynolds Retail Management System, Used Vehicle Management from Reynolds is designed to help dealers more efficiently and effectively control their used-vehicle inventory and processes. Officials highlighted the Reynolds Used Vehicle Management can help dealers:

— Improve their vehicle trade-in appraisal process.

— Achieve quicker inventory turns and higher gross profits.

— Improve inventory acquisition across all stores in a dealership group.

Jon Strawsburg, vice president of Product Planning for Reynolds, noted Mobile UVM can extend these benefits beyond the traditional desktop computer to add greater flexibility and utility for dealership personnel.

“If you followed a used-vehicle sales manager around the dealership for a day, you would notice the manager is rarely sitting at a desk,” Strawsburg said. “In fact, the very nature of the job requires the manager to be mobile: appraising incoming trade-ins, marketing used vehicles, managing staff, procuring used inventory off-site at auction.

“So, while inventory management tools can help managers make better decisions and improve inventory processes, the manager typically has to be at a traditional PC to use those tools,” he continued. “Mobile UVM helps deliver the benefits of Used Vehicle Management right at managers' fingertips, so they can take advantage of those capabilities, at anytime, from anywhere, on any device.”

Strawsburg noted Mobile UVM is built to work as part of a Reynolds dealership management system (DMS). Dealership employees can begin the appraisal on a mobile device with Mobile UVM and finish on the PC without re-keying information.

The company went on to mention three other benefits of Mobile UVM include:

— Mobile alerts that can help support a seamless front-end process by notifying dealership personnel of appraisal requests sent from other Reynolds Retail Management System applications, such as contact management or desking.

— Mobile capabilities that can enable dealership staff to appraise vehicles from anywhere and quickly book out vehicles at auction using the app on a smartphone or tablet.

— Ability for dealership personnel to send a completed vehicle appraisal from a mobile device to others in the dealership immediately so they can take the next steps with the customer in working the deal within Reynolds Desking or the DMS.
