VICTORIA, British Columbia -

AutoTempest.com, a British Columbia-based vehicle shopping site, recently announced a couple of enhancements to its used-car classifieds search engine that it believes will allow Canadian used-car shoppers to more easily connect with sellers.

AutoTempest upgraded its used classifieds search engine parameters to accept Canadian postal codes across the board, even when pulling up results from classified sites featuring only U.S. listings, officials explained.

So, basically, if a Canadian used-car shopper wants to search for a vehicle, he can just punch in his own postal code instead of having to find a nearby U.S. ZIP code. AutoTempest will then pull up relevant nearby vehicles regardless of whether they are in Canada or the U.S.

The other enhancement AutoTempest made was to add AutoTrader.ca to the platform. Now, the engine will pull up results from AutoTrader.ca, in addition to the results it already pulls from used-car classified sites like Craigslist, Cars.com and eBay Motors.

“At AutoTempest, we’re on a mission to bring users the fastest way to search for used cars, amalgamating results from all the top classified auto listings in one place,” stated founder and president Nathan Stretch.

“AutoTempest already provides great results for our American users but being a Canadian based company, ensuring the best possible car search experience for Canadians was also very important to us,” he continued.

“For this reason, we have focused on bringing in results from AutoTrader.ca and enhancing search features to accept Canadian postal codes,” Stretch added. “Canadian users can now enjoy the same ease of use and efficiency in used car searching as their American counterparts.”

Explaining more about the site, officials noted that it offers such shopping tools as vehicle reviews, car insurance quotes and articles on used-car buying.
