BOW, N.H. -

For all their fuel-saving power, hybrid vehicles can also present unique hazards to service technicians, and have specific upkeep requirements.

These topics and others will be addressed in a hybrid clinic hosted by the Grappone Automotive Group, set for June 26 at its LEED-certified Toyota facility in Bow, N.H.

Aimed at the group’s wholesale parts clients, collision centers and mechanical shops, the seminar will offer an introduction to the fundamentals of repairing and upkeep of Toyota hybrids.

An in-depth overview of all engine components, systems and collision repair processes will be discussed, with Toyota field technical specialists assisting Grappone Toyota at the event.

Despite their reduced impact on the environment, hybrids can present hazards when involved in an accident or in need of service and repair, Grappone officials notes, including danger to mechanics due to the high voltages that help run the car.

The hybrid training event will be held from 4:30 p.m. (EST) to 7:30 p.m., with dinner served from 4:30 to 5:30 and presentations from 5:30 to 7:30, including giveaways and raffle prizes.
