'Thief' Breaks into Old Hyundai Headquarters to Steal Drift Car

Race car driver Rhys Millen takes his Hyundai Genesis Coupe for a joyride around the old Hyundai Headquarters.

Pulling up to Hyundai headquarters, a man pulls out a black ski mask and quickly puts it on. The suspicious character climbs out of the car and works his way to the fences surrounding the facilities, carrying some heavy bolt-cutters. The mission? To steal the corporate drift car. The catch? The thief has Hyundai's permission and a video of the escapade.

Hyundai decided to create the ultimate drifting demonstration in a “unique industrial setting” — the old headquarters.

Who was chosen for the job? Race car driver Rhys Millen and his Hyundai Genesis Coupe drift car hit the “parking lots” at the abandoned headquarters, showing off the driving technique where the driver intentionally over-steers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels through turns, while maintaining vehicle control and a high exit speed.

This was certainly not the normal track setting Millen was used to, but he was up for the job.

“Rhys was up for the challenge, and remarkably, so were our lawyers, so we put this thing together, with tongue (and donut) firmly planted in cheek,” company officials explained.

And they caught it all on tape, including Millen doing donuts around a security guard.

Last shot: Millen drives his coupe directly onto a trailer bed and speeds away.

Watch this video and see how it "went down."

Poor ripoff of gymkhana. Gymkhana 3 is by far a more exceptional show of driving skill and entertainment.
