SEATTLE -

Scott Finkle is transitioning out of his leadership position with Auction Edge into an advisory role, the company announced Wednesday. Dan Diedrich takes over as president.

Diedrich, previously a senior vice president, has been part of Auction Edge’s management team since 2012 and has worked in the industry for more than 18 years.

He was also a 2015 honoree in Auto Remarketing’s inaugural 40 Under 40.

“Scott Finkle is a partner, mentor, leader and friend to everyone at Auction Edge,” Diedrich said in a news release. “I am indeed filling big shoes, and I am humbled to accept this position.

“I look forward to leading the company and will continue to rely on Scott’s influence and strategic insight.”

Finkle became Auction Edge president in 2014. He replaced former chief executive officer David Weld. His post before becoming president was as president of Auction Edge’s AuctionPipeline division.

Finkle said in the statement: “I have been honored to lead Auction Edge for the last 30 months. I am grateful for the Auction Edge Team, the customers, the board of directors, and for the opportunity to move the agenda of Independent Auctions forward. I look forward to supporting Auction Edge into the future in new and exciting ways.”

Bob McConkey, board chairman for Auction Edge, said: “Scott is a great leader and he has taken Auction Edge from a startup to a more mature auction management platform.

“In his new role, he will have more freedom to focus on his family. We are excited to support what Dan’s leadership and vision will bring to the table.”
