WESTCHESTER, Ill. — Insurance Auto Auctions announced that its I-bid Live online bidding program and the IAA Auction Center buyer-facing technology are now compatible with Apple-based mobile technology.

Essentially, this means buyers can utilize this technology from any Apple-based Web-capable phone or device, like the iPhone or iPad. This, of course, allows for greater flexibility for buyers, who can bid on and purchase vehicles from any location.

"Freedom of choice is the cornerstone of our auction philosophy," stated Tom O'Brien, the company's chief executive officer. "We have seen a vast majority of the mobile-based traffic coming into our auctions from Apple-based technology, including the iPhone and the iPad.

"Given the current market dynamics and tight used-car supply, buyers need speed and accessibility more than ever," he added. "Using our mobile technology, a buyer can physically be at an IAA Dallas auction while bidding on a car in any other auction through one of IAA's over 150 facilities across the US as well, all through their iPhone or iPad."

Officials explained that this rollout continues IAA's mobile strategy. The most recent element of this strategy was launching Mobile CSAToday back in May. That was geared toward IAA's vehicle-provider customers.

This technology can be utilized at no extra cost to customers. For more information, IAA Buyer Services can be reached at (877) 937-4243. IAA can also be e-mailed at cservice@iaai.com.
