Auto industry training platform RockED announced its latest partnership, teaming with Dealerware to launch a Dealer Mobility Fundamentals Certification program that’s billed as an industry-first.

The program, which will be available through RockED’s platform beginning in March, is designed to help dealership teams navigate the growing complexity of mobility programs in automotive retail, including courtesy vehicles, paid rentals, test drives and pickup and delivery.

While those offerings deliver customer value, RockED said in a news release, they are also “becoming increasingly expensive to operate, time-consuming to manage and risk-intensive,” and dealerships often struggle to make them operationally efficient and financially sustainable.

The company said the Dealer Mobility Fundamentals Certification by Dealerware was developed to provide a clearer understanding of how modern mobility programs can be structured, supported and scaled when paired with the right tools, processes and automation.

“The future of automotive retail includes more flexible and diversified mobility options to meet the evolving needs of the modern retail consumer,” Dealerware CEO Matt Carpenter said. “This certification helps teams across the industry understand where mobility at the dealership is headed and feel empowered to play a role in that evolution as automotive retailers expand these offerings to meet changing consumer expectations.”

The program uses microlearning to explore mobility concepts, including consumer expectations, diversified mobility offerings, operational efficiency and risk management. RockED said the program is brand-agnostic and intended to support consistent, forward-looking mobility thinking.

Participants completing the certification course will receive recognition confirming they have demonstrated knowledge of dealer mobility management fundamentals and operational best practices.

“As mobility becomes a more important part of the automotive retail experience, teams across the dealership need confidence in how these programs can work,” RockED CEO Matthias Stoever said. “Partnering with Dealerware allows us to make that understanding more accessible, helping retailers approach mobility with greater clarity as these programs continue to expand.”
