RICHMOND, Va. — CarMax found that used-vehicle shoppers coming to its Web site in 2009 had diverse tastes. While the Honda Accord was again the most sought-after vehicle, newcomers such as the Jeep Wrangler and Chevrolet Silverado broadened the scope of potential purchases.

CarMax officials determined that the Honda Accord topped their list of most-searched vehicles for the fourth year a row. The rest of the Top 10 for 2009 on carmax.com mixed together several vehicle types and nameplates

The Ford F-150 followed the Honda Accord, with the Chevrolet Tahoe, the Ford Mustang and the Toyota Camry rounding out the first five units.

The remaining units included in the year-end statistics were the Honda Civic, the Jeep Wrangler, the Toyota Tacoma, the Nissan Altima and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

CarMax executives said the site enjoyed more than 5.5 million Web site visits per month on average throughout last year.

"This year's list shows the variety of makes and models our customers are considering when shopping online for a quality used car," explained Ann Yauger, director of carmax.com.

"Carmax.com continues to evolve and expand search capabilities based on consumer feedback," she concluded.
