SANTA MONICA, Calif. — In light of the significant deals being offered as part of Presidents' Day Weekend, TrueCar.com listed 17 different new vehicles it spotted as having potential MSRP discounts anywhere from 10 percent to 21 percent.

Leading the way as the most heavily discounted vehicle was the 2010 Nissan Titan, whose price TrueCar.com predicted would drop by 21 percent.

All told, site analysts projected the average MSRP discount to be 6.25 percent in connection with holiday weekend sales events.

Closely following the Nissan Titan were two vehicles that TrueCar.com projected to be discounted by 18 percent — the Mitsubishi Endeavor LS and the Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.

Rounding out the top five vehicle discounts of the holiday weekend expected by site analysts were 17-percent MSRP decreases for the Dodge Dakota Extended Cab ST and the Hyundai Sonata I4 GLS.

TrueCar.com also indicated that heavy discounts were doled out on vehicles from several segments, including trucks, compacts, SUVs and sporty sedans.

On Friday, Jesse Toprak, vice president of industry trends and insights for TrueCar.com, said there were "some fantastic deals out there for consumers this Presidents' Day."

"Popular cars like the Hyundai Sonata, Chevy Cobalt and Kia Forte were all showing expected discounts of better than 10 percent, as were the BMW 335 and Volvo C70," Toprak added.

Continuing on, TrueCar.com also rolled out a new pricing tool geared for consumers who use their mobile devices while comparing vehicles.

Site executives said TrueCar.com Mobile Web can give pricing explanations while integrating information about a specific make, model and dealership location. They added the program is optimized for both the Apple iPhone and BlackBerry.

"Car buying and research have changed so much in the information age," stressed Scott Painter, chief executive officer of TrueCar.com.

"Twenty years ago, consumers simply decided what they wanted and drove to a dealership, where they either looked at the sticker or read a brochure," Painter continued.

"With TrueCar Mobile, consumers will be able to check on the best car deals while they are actually on the lot," he concluded.
