ATLANTA -

Cox Automotive has named a chief sales officer. Hired to the position is Sid Nair, who joins the company from DXC Technology, an IT services company.

Nair will report to Cox Automotive president Sandy Schwartz and will head up the company’s U.S. sales operation and marketing functions, which includes nearly 2,500 employees.

His direct reports as CSO include Cox Automotive’s chief marketing officer and U.S. sales leadership.

The company pointed out that Cox Automotive Financial Solutions Group president Shane O’Dell will head up the NextGear Capital sales team.

“Sid’s leadership will play an integral role in how we deliver unquestionable value to our clients as we continue to transform Cox Automotive and provide leading automotive retail and wholesale solutions in the digital era,” Schwartz said in a news release.

“Sid has the mindset to operate with excellence today while helping prepare our teams for the bigger, bolder future we’re pursuing together,” he said.

Nair’s background also includes time with Dell, Wipro and HPE Enterprise Services. The latter merged with CSC in April 2017 and formed DXC.

“I am looking forward to applying my leadership skills and experience across the Cox Automotive sales and marketing organizations to evolve them to the next level,” Nair said in the release.

“Cox Automotive’s sales team is strong with exceptional expertise that brings value to clients every day. Coming from high-performing companies with complex product lines and disparate client segments, I know what it takes to create a unified sales approach and structure that makes teams even more successful.”
