KANSAS CITY, Mo. -

General Motors revealed Monday the 2012 Auction of the Year Award winner.

Taking home the honors is ADESA Kansas City, marking the second consecutive year the auction has earned this national award.

GM explained that of the 34 GM Sponsored Auctions nationwide, it excels the most in reconditioning, repairs and presentation of GM’s used vehicles to GM dealers.

“ADESA Kansas City has consistently been a top-performing auction for GM over the years, finishing in first place four times over the past eight years. This award is a reflection of their dedication to providing dealers with the utmost customer service and value,” said Dan Kennedy, GM Remarketing’s manager. “We congratulate them on their outstanding performance and continued success, and thank them for their efforts on behalf of GM and the dealers.”

Highlighting the numbers, throughout 2012, the auction sold nearly 6,000 vehicles for both GM and Ally in the GM closed and Ally open sales.

“The auction and its strong performance is cornerstone to GM’s programs – GM Sponsored Plus and GM FrontLine Ready,” officials noted.

ADESA Kansas City management also expressed its gratitude for the award.

“We are thankful for GM’s strong partnership and for this recognition highlighting our team’s dedicated efforts,” said Harold Chapman, general manager, ADESA Kansas City. “We have come a long way, but our hard work continues. We aim to provide our dealers with unbeatable quality and service.”
