GRANITE BAY, Calif. -

Digital license plate developer ReviverMX has entered into a relationship with Best Buy in which Best Buy auto stereo installation departments will perform installation services for Reviver’s Rplate and Rplate Pro digital license plates.

The installations will take place at about 1,000 Best Buy retail locations nationwide, and Reviver founder and CSO Neville Boston said Best Buy’s retail presence provides strong coverage for Reviver as more customers adopt the digital license plates.

Boston said Best Buy’s approximately 165 locations in California and Arizona that serve Reviver’s current primary market represents a strong alignment of the Reviver and Best Buy teams geographically and strategically.

Although Reviver’s Rplate and Rplate Pro are currently sold in California and Arizona, they are legal for driving across all 50 states. Reviver said 11 additional states are currently engaged in various stages of adoption.

“As more states adopt our digital plates, the Best Buy infrastructure provides us with an immediate path for continued growth," Boston said in a news release.

The digital license plates, or DLPs, offer personalization features and can perform registration renewal through the company's proprietary app. Reviver's Rplate Pro DLP also offers GPS-linked telematic features.

Professional installation is required to connect the digital license plate to the vehicle’s power source. The Rplate is battery-powered and does not offer the telematics features. The user can self-install it or bring it to a Best Buy location for installation.

Reviver chief executive officer Robert Wood said Best Buy’s auto stereo installation teams are highly skilled, and he added that modern shops are available throughout its retail network to install the products.

“The Best Buy alliance is a perfect fit as we accelerate national adoption of our DLPs,” Wood said.
