ATLANTA -

In addition to announcing another dealer group coming on board to use the Clutch Subscription Platform, Clutch Technologies said Monday that it has integrated new features via technology from Cox Automotive Data Solutions that can help dealers and automakers more profitably manage loaner, subscription and mobility fleets.

These dealers and OEMs offering subscriptions to their customers can now utilize fleet valuation and remarketing data to optimize the size and mix of their fleets.

“The integration of CADS’s data and technology further differentiates Clutch’s subscription platform. No one can compete with our combination of Cox Automotive's market data, Clutch's subscription software and experience, and the CADS data products and algorithms,” Clutch Technologies president Vince Zappa said in a news release.

“Dealers and OEMS offering subscription with Clutch can leverage this one-of-a-kind intelligence to better manage their fleets and realize increased efficiencies for their subscription businesses,” Zappa said.

Clutch is owned by Cox Automotive.

In other news from Clutch, the Tom Masano Auto Group has launched a new subscription service called REV by Masano that is powered by the Clutch Subscription Platform.

Members of REV, which is available in Reading, Pa., and nearby areas, are able to utilize the same make-model vehicle at what is described as “an affordable monthly payment.” It includes insurance, maintenance and concierge service.

“REV was launched to provide a unique segment of our customers the option to drive the same car without a long-term commitment,” Tom Masano Auto Group president John Masano said in a news release.

“We believe this alternative to traditional financing will meet the needs of our diverse and growing base, while at the same time, allowing us to leverage our fleet of vehicles in different ways,” he said. “Using the Clutch Subscription Platform to offer REV also has the added benefit of the integration with Cox Automotive’s proprietary market data and powerful optimization tools ensuring we manage our subscription fleet more profitably.”

REV utilizes what is known as the Single VIN product at Clutch.

Through Single VIN, dealers can “monetize” used cars on their and cater to consumers who really want subscriptions for the simplicity and convenience of it, Clutch said.

“In fact, a single VIN subscription can effectively function as a ‘used lease’ that can be more affordable than financing that same used vehicle,” Clutch explained in the release. “REV members gain access to the same make-model vehicle on an ongoing basis with the flexibility to cancel at any time — a contrast to typical ownership models.”

Added Zappa, “This is an ideal product for customers who want hassle-free driving and a great service from a dealer that also takes away the burden of ownership, with a low monthly payment and flexibility to cancel at any time. For the dealer, the addition of a new way to monetize used inventory is very appealing for the bottom line.”
