Cox Automotive announced Monday that it has brought aboard Marianne Johnson to serve as the company’s new chief product officer.

The company said that Johnson not only brings 30 years of experience in innovation and technology,  she has helped shape the financial technology field, as well.

In her new role, Johnson will head the development of company products across its more than 20 brands and report to Cox Automotive executive vice president and chief operating officer Mark O’Neil.

“Marianne will lead our product team during an important time in our history,” O’Neil said in a news release. “She understands the momentum we have, the opportunities in front of us, and she’s committed to leveraging her product and innovation expertise to maximize them.”

Johnson most recently led product innovation and technology for the network and security solutions line of business at First Data, where she served as senior vice president of enterprise commercialization.

“The automotive industry is in the midst of dynamic transformation and I am thrilled to join Cox Automotive to help the company and its customers,” said Johnson. “This is an industry-leading company, well-positioned to deliver exceptional products that maximize the potential for our clients and consumers."
