HAMPTON ROADS, Va. -

Carvana announced Wednesday that it is bringing its online auto retail platform and as-soon-as next-day delivery option to customers living in the Virginia’s Hampton Roads metropolitan area.

This is the company’s 22nd market overall, and the second in Virginia. It is also its first new market of the year.

“We couldn’t be more excited to kick off our 2017 expansion with the launch of Hampton Roads, particularly due to its ties to tech and early adoption. We’re thrilled to be a part of Hampton Roads and further drive innovation by offering a whole new way to buy a car,” Ernie Garcia, founder and chief executive officer of Carvana, said in a news release.

“We launched in Richmond in June of 2016 and we’ve been warmly received within the Virginia area. Our expansion into Hampton Roads will help meet the growing regional demand for the Carvana car buying experience.”

Carvana now offers free, as-soon-as next-day delivery to more than 143 million consumers nationwide, including the new 3 million Virginians living in Hampton Roads.

Currently, the platform has delivered cars to customers in 47 states.
