CARMEL, Ind. -

After ADESA Los Angeles recently held a three day opening-sale, as well as a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the auction hosted a grand-opening ceremony for the dedication of a new building for General Motors, just last week.

The event — held Oct. 26 and 27  — included a closed-sale preview, open house and a V.I.P. welcome dinner, all before the bi-weekly GM closed sale. Attendees were also privy to a complimentary lunch and giveaways before the sale.

The new GM building includes dedicated auction lanes and a capacity for more than 600 vehicles. The building also touts a dealer club room and a concierge.

“ADESA and General Motors have developed a successful business partnership during the years,” said ADESA chief executive officer and president Tom Caruso.

“We are proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish through this relationship, and we’re confident we can raise the bar even higher moving forward. I am excited about the General Motors building at ADESA Los Angeles and what this means for our customers,” he continued.

So what does the new construction mean for GM dealers?

They now have the convenience of having all their sale-day needs met under one roof, company officials stressed.

And before the official building dedication, GM remarketing manager Dan Kennedy held a dealer roundtable to address questions and generate feedback from these very same GM dealers.

“ADESA Los Angeles has created an environment that offers convenience and ease for our dealers,” said Kennedy.

“The General Motors building provides a comfortable, weather-protected environment for dealers to view vehicles 365 days of the year, while protecting them from the environmental elements,” he added.

And ADESA Los Angeles is set to host a GM closed sale every other Thursday at this new building.

ADESA Los Angeles general manager Chad Ruffin commented on the very first of these sales, expressing gratitude for the dealers and buyers that made it out:  “We had an extraordinary turnout for our first sale in this building. Thank you to our customers, to my auction team, and most of all, General Motors for a successful event.”
