MILWAUKEE -

Since landing a large account with General Motors this past fall, the Greater Milwaukee Auto Auction has not only recently joined Internet platform AuctionPipeline’s network but also will be doubling in size in the near future.

After opening its doors in 2004, the GMAA has grown rapidly and is now consistantly running 1,000 cars per week through their lanes, the auction noted.

Now, in conjunction with landing the GM account this past September, the auction will be expanding its lot to accommodate 2,500 cars, up from 1,500 currently.

Construction to pave the remaining 15 acres of GMAA’s total 30 acres began in Fall 2010 and is expected to be completed July 15, just in time for the auction’s seven year anniversary.

“We are looking forward to being able to keep our entire inventory and operations at one location; almost doubling in size will ensure this becomes a reality,” said Kristie Griffin, GMAA president, in a recent interview with Auto Remarketing.

“GM sends us 100s of cars at a time, and this expansion is going to really help to facilitate their account and enable us as an auction grown even more,” she added.

On top of the expansion in the works, GMAA on Tuesday joined the ranks of AuctionPipeline’s independent auction network.

"Our focus is an ease of use for the dealer; the addition of AuctionPipeline to GMAA provides a central location for dealers to review inventories all over the country and buy cars remotely," said Griffin.

President of AuctionPipeline Scott Finkle noted the partnership with GMAA “further strengthens the position of the (AuctionPipeline) network.”

"AuctionPipeline represents the commanding share of independent auctions selling for GM. With the addition of Greater Milwaukee, AuctionPipeline further strengthens the position of the network as the leading source for GM vehicles nationwide," Finkle continued.

“Greater Milwaukee is a young and technologically progressive auction with a strong focus on customer service. They are well positioned to benefit from the advantages of working with other auctions in the AuctionPipeline network,” he concluded.
