McLEAN, Va. -

Large pickup prices are expected to increase slightly in the lanes this week, following a trend seen this spring, while overall wholesale price movement is expected to be flat.

NADA Used Car Guide expects overall prices to remain unchanged relative to the two-week average.

That said, large pickup prices are expected to increase slightly again this week, with rates predicted to grow by .2 percent, or $50.

Midsize vans are also expected to see a small boost in price this week, with rates growing by .5 percent, or $75.

Earlier this week, Ricky Beggs of Black Book touched on a few reasons behind strong truck prices this season, and for the midsize pickups, in particular.

On top of increasing construction rates and housing development, Beggs highlighted another factor that may be playing a role for the midsize pickup segment, in particular.

He explained the lack of new model options is driving up used midsize pickup values.

Meanwhile, the analysis from NADA Used Car Guide also highlighted the segments that are expected to see the biggest price declines this week, with the large SUV segment leading the pack. That segment has  a predicted drop of .4 percent, or $100.

Both the compact car and luxury utility segments are expected to decline by $50, NADA UCG reported.

And midsize cars are also expected to drop by a slight 0.2 percent or $25.

Four- and two-week AuctionNet wholesale average prices are created by collecting all AuctionNet records for vehicles  up to five years of age for a specified period of time.  Prices are then adjusted for changes in mileage and mix.

Current week prices are based on NADA's proprietary used-vehicle value model which includes assumptions for new-vehicle prices, used-vehicle supply, gasoline prices, and other economic factors.
