LOS ANGELES -

Carvana has expanded its footprint coast to coast with the recent launch of its new Los Angeles market — the company’s first in California.

The online used-vehicle retailer announced Wednesday that L.A. metro area residents can now browse Carvana.com to finance, purchase and trade in old vehicles.

“Our goal has always been to give as many people as possible a new way to buy a car. Launching in Los Angeles gives us the West Coast presence we’ve been working toward,” Carvana founder and chief executive officer Ernie Garcia said in a news release.

“Angelenos already spend enough hours in traffic. Now that we’re here, they don’t need to spend even more hours at a dealership,” he said.

After making a purchase, customers can arrange for vehicles to be delivered as soon as the next day.

Customers who want to experience the company’s coin-operated, fully automated Car Vending Machine can opt into Carvana’s fly-and-drive program.

The program provides customers with a $200 airfare stipend to fly to one of six Carvana Car Vending Machines in Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Nashville or Raleigh, the retailer’s latest addition.
