TAMPA, Fla. -

Online auto retailer Carvana ventured into its third market in Florida on Tuesday, adding Tampa, Fla., to its list of places the company can reach consumers in the Sunshine State.

With the launch of operations in Tampa, Carvana now can offer free, next-day delivery to anyone within 100 miles of the city. In total, the company now can reach 9.7 million consumers in its 12 markets, which also include:

— Atlanta
— Austin, Texas
— Birmingham, Ala.
— Charlotte, N.C.
— Dallas
— Houston
— Nashville, Tenn.
— San Antonio
— Raleigh, N.C.
— Orlando, Fla.
— Jacksonville, Fla.

These locations continue to support Carvana's strategy to have physical inventory in key markets across the country to better meet demand and expedite the delivery process.

“Based on what we’ve seen, consumers are fatigued with the traditional car buying experience. Our goal is to create a better way to buy a car by putting the consumer in complete control of the process,” said Ernie Garcia, founder and chief executive officer of Carvana.

“We’re thrilled to continue our expansion and show Tampa customers that Carvana is making car buying fun again,” Garcia added.

Similar to what the company did in other markets, consumers in Tampa who have purchased a vehicle prior to expansion in the area will be offered a full refund of the delivery fee paid to Carvana.

Carvana added that it plans to continue active expansion — including more Car Vending Machine rollouts — over the next few years.
