DALLAS -

Following its most successful quarter ever, Carvana announced Thursday it is expanding its footprint to meet customer enthusiasm for buying vehicles completely online.

The company has expanded to Texas, doubling its capacity with a new 30-acre operations center in Dallas.

With the new center, the company can now offer free next-day delivery to Dallas-area customers, on top of shoppers in Atlanta, Nashville, Tenn., Charlotte, N.C., and Birmingham, Ala.

Carvana also reported this expansion will give them the capacity to sell and deliver thousands of more vehicles per month.

The company explained, that similar to Amazon’s distribution facilities, Carvana's strategy is to have physical inventory in key markets to make sales more efficient and to support growth.

"The response from customers to buy a car online has been so overwhelming, that we have made an investment in a new facility that enables us to sell thousands of more cars per month. With sales already in 39 states, we are excited to further support the demand for online car buying with a larger inventory and bigger presence outside the Southeast," said Ernie Garcia, founder and chief executive officer of Carvana.

Carvana shared success in Texas and the Southwest market was a “driving force” behind the recent expansion.

As a thank you to early adopters in Dallas who have purchased a vehicle prior to its expansion, Carvana has offered a full refund of the delivery fee paid with their purchase.
