BANDON, Ore. -

Franchised dealers in one Florida market far and away posted the highest used-vehicle transaction prices last month.

According to CNW Research data shared with Auto Remarketing on Monday, used transaction prices at franchised dealerships in West Palm Beach, Fla., and Fort Pierce, Fla., averaged $22,042 in February.

Coming next at more than $5,000 less were transaction prices in Fairbanks, Alaska, which CNW determined were $16,568.

As an industry, analysts indicated February used transaction prices at franchised lots averaged $12,605, representing a 4.01-percent rise from a year ago.

The Top 10 markets with the highest used transaction prices last month according to CNW included:

1. West Palm Beach-Fort Pierce, Fla.: $22,042
2. Fairbanks, Alaska: $16,568
3. Grand Junction-Montrose Colo.: $16,316
4. Columbus, Ohio: $16,231
5. Chicago: $15,910
6. Cincinnati: $15,668
7. Palm Springs, Calif.: $15,510
8. Austin, Texas: $15,485
9. Ottumwa Iowa-Kirksville, Mo.: $15,441
10. San Diego: $15,436

On the other end of the spectrum, CNW discovered franchised dealer used transaction prices in 21 different markets settled below $10,000 last month. The Top 10 lowest included:

2. Glendive, Mont. $8,556
3. Spokane, Wash.: $8,828
4. Richmond-Petersburg, Va.: $8,861
5. Bakersfield, Calif.: $8,881
6. Victoria, Texas: $9,013
7. Evansville, Ind.: $9,028
8. Sioux Falls-Mitchell, S.D.: $9,083
9. New Orleans: $9,084
10. Milwaukee: $9,275
