TYSONS, Va. -

Mike Stanton, a longtime executive with what is now known as J.D. Power Valuation Services, is back with the National Automobile Dealers Association.

NADA said Wednesday that Stanton has been named its senior vice president and chief operating officer.

“I am excited to be back at NADA and have the opportunity to enhance existing relationships and develop new ones to support franchised new-car and -truck dealerships and our industry,” Stanton said in a news release.

His responsibilities in the new position include strategic and operational issues, new business development, while also leading NADA’s information technology and economics and data analytics departments, plus its affinity programs.

Stanton’s most recent role was as vice president and general manager of the J.D. Power Vehicle Valuation Practice. Prior to being purchased by J.D. Power in 2015, it was known as NADA Used Car Guide and Stanton was its vice president and COO.

Stanton’s roles have also included serving as executive director of industry affairs at NADA and working as NADA Used Car Guide’s national sales manager.
