MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -

Beepi has merged into a new venture led by TrueCar founder Scott Painter and two former Tesla executives that will bring dealers into the fold, according to a news release provided Wednesday by public relations firm Kel & Partners.

TechCrunch was first to report the news on Wednesday, indicating that Beepi had merged with the to-be-launched Fair.com headed by Painter, Fedor Artiles and Georg Bauer.

The news release does not mention Fair.com by name, but indicated that Beepi was “joining forces with a number of automotive industry veterans to integrate dealers into Beepi’s digital car-buying platform.”

The release adds: “In the new venture, Beepi is joining forces with Georg Bauer, formerly of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Tesla, Scott Painter, formerly of TrueCar, and Fedor Artiles, formerly of Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Volkswagen, and Tesla.”

The top priority for the new venture, the press release said, is to scale profitability and bring dealer partners into the mix. It will “enhance the digital car-buying experience for modern customers,” the news release indicated.

“Georg, Scott, and Fedor are auto industry veterans that I deeply admire, and I’m excited to join forces with them to focus on the future of the car-buying industry,” Ale Resnik, co-founder and chief executive officer of Beepi, said in the news release. “Beepi will benefit immeasurably from this partnership, and we look forward to continuing to deliver an unsurpassed digital car buying experience with this new group of dealer partners.”

Painter formally stepped down from his leadership role at TrueCar last December.

Impact to Ally partnerships?

Beepi has had leasing and lending partnerships with Ally.

Asked what impact, if any, this new will have to the various partnerships that Ally has with Beepi, an Ally spokesperson said Thursday the company did not have any comment to share at this time
