CLERMONT, Fla. -

DealerStar recently enhanced its dealer management software with Total Recall, its new tool that uses vehicle history inquiry to alert dealerships’ service and sales departments when there's a recall currently open for a vehicle.

Total Recall runs a nightly vehicle inquiry for every open repair order and vehicle in stock.

"Many times a dealership inadvertently sells a vehicle that had an open recall or neglects to check for recalls on repair orders that are a few days old," DealerStar DMS president Sandi Jerome said in a news release. “DealerStar DMS also checks for recalls when the vehicle is added to inventory or a new deal is created."

To notify dealers about recalls, Total Recall shows large alerts on the vehicle inventory record, deal screens and the open repair order, according to the company.

Additionally, when a repair order is placed within the DealerStar DMS and there is an open recall, the information is automatically added to the repair order.

“If the service advisor deletes these lines or any other recommended service labor lines, DealerStar DMS keeps a record of the deletion,” added Jerome. “As a profit-focused DMS, DealerStar provides dealers with the tools they need to increase profit with better internal control.”
