DEARBORN, Mich. -

FordDirect chief operating officer Valerie Fuller will be stepping down Sept. 1 to pursue other opportunities, the company said Friday.

Chief executive officer Mike Jurecki announced the news in a press release, thanking Fuller for her leadership of the company, which included serving as interim CEO for the first half of this year and 11 years with the executive team.

Her leadership roles at FordDirect included operations, product development, marketing and sales, customer support, analytics and technology.

“In addition to building a strong product portfolio to lead Ford Motor Co. and dealers in the retail digital space, Valerie has helped cultivate important relationships with our Ford and dealer customers,” Jurecki said in the news release.  “Her strong leadership has positioned FordDirect for continued success long into the future. We are truly grateful for her many years of service.”

Jurecki added: “The most important thing a great leader does is build the team they lead, and I'm confident in the strong team Valerie has put in place and in its ability to continue FordDirect’s impressive growth. The team will fuel our growth this year by increasing focus on customer service.”

Fuller was also a 2013 Women in Remarketing honoree
