INDIANAPOLIS -

MaxTradeIn — an online marketplace that allows car owners to trade-in or sell their vehicle to local dealerships competing for their business — has been working with 36 franchised dealers in Indianapolis after launching late last year.

There have been more than 1,000 vehicles listed on the site in two months, and this week, the company announced that it has expanded into Cincinnati; dealers and consumers in that city can now take advantage of its services.

MaxTradeIn also announced that it has appointed a chief operating officer. Named to the role is Shawn Schwegman, whose experience includes serving as chief marketing officer for ChaCha, as well as serving in chief technology officer and vice president of marketing roles for Overstock.com.

“The massive growth experienced by companies like ChaCha and Overstock.com is largely due to Shawn’s leadership,” said Justin Bates, co-founder and chief executive officer of MaxTradeIn. “You don’t often come across people with Shawn’s proven track record for growing and scaling companies to the next level and beyond. We couldn’t be more excited to have him join the MaxTradeIn team.”

Sharing more about how MaxTradeIn works, the site allows consumers a way to generate multiple purchase offers from local dealers in a free 48-hour listing period.

As for how it benefits dealerships, it is designed to provide them high-quality leads for consumers wanting to trade-in or sell their current ride and purchase a new car, thus helping them to boost used inventory cost-effectively.
