DENVER -

Another online used-car marketplace has joined the peer-to-peer car sales space.

Blinker, led by John Elway Dealers and Summit Automotive Partners founder Rod Buscher, launched Tuesday in Colorado.

Through the Blinker app, consumers in Colorado can buy, sell and finance used cars. It is free for both buyers and sellers and includes a free Carfax report. Users have the option to buy a service contract.

“The process of selling and buying used cars privately creates a lot of anxiety for most people,” Buscher, chief executive officer and a founder, said in a news release, “but Blinker solves all that by making the process quick, easy, much safer and fun.”

Advertise monthly payments

One interesting nuance to Blinker is that a seller can advertise his or her car for a monthly payment, similar to a dealer. Blinker takes in the payment and the seller is paid the complete price.

Blinker handles purchase offers and payments, makes sure the seller is paid and completes title documents.

Plans down the road

Currently available in Colorado, Blinker said it will be next year before the full transactional is available nationwide.

However, users can still download the app now.

Blinker also said in the future it plans to offer vehicle owners the ability to refinance their cars through patent-pending image-recognition technology, plus buy parts, services and car insurance.
