SANTA MONICA, Calif. — TrueCar revealed a new vice president of dealer development late last week, and appointed to the position was Ken Potter.

His responsibilities in the new role include managing field sales and inside account management teams, as well as fostering strong relationships with dealerships and representing the company at industry events.

"We are excited to have Ken join the team and know he can help to continue cultivating deeper relationships with our dealer partners," stated Stewart Easterby, TrueCar's executive vice president of dealer development.

As for Potter's background, his experience includes time with Mota Motors as well as Internet Brands, among other stops.

At Internet Brands, Potter was vice president and general manager for automotive In this capacity, he headed up P&L for CarsDirect.com. His 11 years with Internet Brands inlcuded time leading inside and outside sales, customer service, accounting and auto product development.

Before his time there, he held general manager positions at two dealerships, including close to three years with CarMax. Additionally, Potter had field sales roles at two major office products companies.

"With a changing marketplace where most consumers now start their research process online, I am looking forward to working with a company like TrueCar that is focused on creating a better car buying process for both dealers and consumers," Potter noted.

"My understanding of the online automotive space and managing dealerships will be valuable as I meet with dealers to find solutions and better address their needs," he added.
