SANTA MONICA, Calif. -

TrueCar announced Thursday that as part of its DrivenToDrive program, which helps put injured veterans into a retrofitted vehicle of their own, it has partnered with non-profit charity Disabled American Veterans (DAV) this year.

Up to Sunday, active members of the military, veterans or immediate family members can enter to win a vehicle at truecar.com/driventodrive.

“Driving is an expression of freedom and independence,” TrueCar chief brand officer Lucas Donat said in a news release. “Helping injured veterans, those that have sacrificed so much for our freedom, to drive again is a cause close to our heart. Last year we had such an incredible response that we are excited to open up the contest again, and we’re honored to be working with DAV.”

Launched late last year, this marks the second year for the DrivenToDrive vehicle giveaway.

The inaugural winner of the giveaway was presented with a brand-new cargo van from TrueCar last year.

“DAV is grateful to partner with TrueCar and their DrivenToDrive program, which is designed to help the brave men and women who served our country regain their freedom and independence,” added Marc Burgess, chief executive officer of DAV. “Awarding a vehicle is a special way to recognize the sacrifices a veteran made and dramatically improve his or her quality of life. We’re additionally grateful to TrueCar for supporting DAV’s mission to honor our heroes and make them aware of the assistance we provide at no cost.”
