CARMEL, Ind. -

As the ADESA OpenLane online wholesale platform continues to take shape, the company recently highlighted a series of site modifications geared to benefit buyers and sellers — 20 in all that became effective last month.

Among the enhancements for vehicle searches are:

—sorting by year, make, model, series and VIN all available directly on the search results page: to make sorting through search results easier and simple.

—closed sale type indicator added for vehicles appearing on the search results page, bid/buy pages and to the vehicle detail pages for closed listings to make it easier to find and distinguish inventory available exclusively to closed auction buyers.

—improved icon definitions to provide more detailed descriptions that appear in the text boxes triggered by hovering over icons on the search results and vehicle details pages.

—back to search results link added on bid and buy pages to make it more convenient to view other vehicles that appeared in the search results after placing a bid or making a vehicle purchase.

—auto complete feature added to free text search to make it easier and faster to add search terms when entering a free text search.

—free text search for sellers added to the advanced search page with the idea that the addition of free text search would make searching for sellers more convenient.

—slider added to proximity filter on search results panel to simplify the process of indicating the desired proximity from your location when filtering search results.

—added sale type filter on the search results panel so now it’s possible to filter search results by open or closed listings.

—added user-selectable values for price, odometer and proximity on the advanced search page to make it easier to select values when using the advanced search feature.

The company also created a pair of enhancements for user watch lists, including:

—bidder notes added to the watching panel to make it more convenient to view your notes for each vehicle dealers are watching.

—bid history now available as a link from the bids/offers panel so viewing the bid history for vehicles for which a user made a bid or best offer can be seen in a more convenient way.

A pair of enhancements also has been rolled out on the vehicle details page, including:

—new certification code icon added with details accessible in the Incentives and promotions section that’s geared to let users know that the vehicle has passed the consignors own certification requirements. Consignors currently using this feature include Capital One, Carbuyco, PAR North America, Santander Consumer USA and Wells Fargo.

—window stickers are now accessible for GM Financial and Volkswagen Credit inventory listings located at ADESA auction locations: GM Financial window stickers are available from the OEM information section of the vehicle details page. Volkswagen Credit window stickers are available from the equipment section of the vehicle details page.

Furthermore, a total of seven enhancements have been launched that are geared to benefit sellers, including:

—redesigned top half of the seller interface page so now it’s easier and faster to enter a VIN, order a vehicle inspection or upload vehicle prices.

—redesigned sold panel so tracking sold vehicles is easier and more convenient with greater consolidation of functions in each column.

—resolve to next iteration button moved to scrolling toolbar for increased convenience for sellers that wish to move the auction close for a vehicle listing to the following auction period.

—green- and yellow-colored AutoCheck buttons appear on the live and pending panels. New additions to the red-colored AutoCheck buttons that have previously been displayed are geared to make it easier to track the AutoCheck rating for vehicles at auction.

—tire condition added to the inspection report PDF available on the live, pending and sold panels for dealer-consigned vehicles. For dealer consigners only, the tire condition for each listed unit now appears on the inspection report PDF (the dealer-generated condition report).

—vehicles no longer removed from the bid review panel. An enhancement requested by many sellers, this change is designed to make it easier for sellers to refer to previously reviewed units.

—Vehicle status added to the custom quick search feature on the unsold panel to make it possible to search for unsold vehicles by unsold, cancelled, etc.

The company offered a PDF that contains images of these changes as well, a document that’s available here.
