CARMEL, Ind. -

ADESA has named a new vice president of U.S. dealer sales, chosen from within the company.

Selected by ADESA for the role was Tom Haeberer, who has served as the company’s executive sales director since 2007. The move was effective immediately.

As vice president of U.S. dealer sales, Haeberer will report directly to Jeff Bescher, senior vice president of CRM and inside sales, ADESA reported.

In his new role, Haeberer will oversee ADESA’s dealer participation and sales efforts across all online platforms, the company said. Also, he will be instrumental in continued integration efforts between ADESA and its recently purchased OPENLANE, as the two companies merge to build a single marketplace.

Bescher said, “This position requires a unique skill set of vastly diverse talents. Tom’s not only an experienced remarketing executive and sales leader, but he also brings a strong background in Internet technology and strategic implementation to this role. That — combined with his ability to effectively interact with senior executives, commercial accounts, dealer customers and employees — make Tom the ideal candidate.”

Prior to joining ADESA, Haeberer held key management and executive positions at organizations including Toyota Financial Services and Auction Broadcasting Co.

At TFS he created the corporate e-business department, which was in charge of $300 million in sales, ADESA noted, and increased dealer participation substantially. Haeberer was also responsible for running the first Toyota car ever remarketed by TFS on the Internet.

At ABC, Haeberer served as vice president of sales operations, managing corporate IT strategies and playing a key role in launching that company’s simulcast product.
