ADESA’s Boston-area location recently celebrated its 70 years in business with two special events last month.

In June, ADESA Boston held both an anniversary sale and a car show/motorcycle run fundraiser.

ADESA Boston’s 70th-anniversary sale drew a number of additional dealers and vehicles. The array of vehicles included notable drives such as a 1941 Chevrolet pickup truck, a 1951 Ford V8 Deluxe Massachusetts state trooper car and a 2016 Tesla Model X P90D, according to the auction.

Additionally, in honor of its milestone anniversary, ADESA Boston put on a display of seven cars and trucks to represent the seven decades the auction has been open.

“Even though we’ve grown and expanded, we’ve worked hard to keep a local business feel,” ADESA Boston general manager Jack Neshe said in a news release. “We have staff members who have been with this auction for more than 30 years. We’ve built strong relationships with our customers and our community.”

The auction’s 17th annual classic car show and motorcycle run raised $17,300 for JDRF, an advocacy group for people with type 1 diabetes. Proceeds came from show entry fees, sponsorships and a live auction held during the event.

This year, over 50 classic cars and motorcycles were in the show.

The annual event has raised more than $600,000 for a number of children’s charities since 2001, according to ADESA.

“I sincerely thank our dealers, customers, employees and families for their outstanding support of our fundraising efforts year after year,” Neshe added. “Charitable giving is important to us, and we are deeply committed to doing our part to help our neighbors and strengthen our community.”

In addition to live music, raffles and food catered by Fulciniti’s Market, the fundraiser also included a 30-mile, police-escorted motorcycle run where 40 riders toured through scenic Massachusetts towns.
