CARMEL, Ind. -

ADESA has rolled out a new U.S. website, the company announced today.

It said in a press release that ADESA.com was built on the technology of OPENLANE, which was acquired by ADESA in late 2011.

The new website is designed to be a “comprehensive end-to-end vehicle remarketing solution” for wholesale buyers and sellers, the company said. Included on the new site is vehicle inventory from all of ADESA’s U.S. auctions in addition to fresh, upstream and off-lease units from off-site locations.

“This results in more choices for customers when sourcing wholesale vehicles. Customers will find a broad mix of vehicles available from dealers and all national consignors,” the company noted.

ADESA president and chief executive officer Tom Caruso said: “When we acquired OPENLANE, our goal was to build a complete marketplace for all of our inventory — at auction and online. We did what we said we were going to do. Our teams worked together to deliver a platform that allows our customers to buy and sell cars how, where and when they want: from their lots, in-transit, online and at auction.”

Officials noted that ADESA.com has upgrades to the search capabilities and buyer/seller interfaces that make it a stronger remarketing platform. Other enhancements include:

• Site navigation and functionality
• Single sign-on for customers with multiple dealerships
• Customizable search capabilities
• Enhanced vehicle details page, including an integrated condition report; users no longer have to open a new window to view this information
• New ADESA Market Guide with both at-auction and online vehicle pricing history
• Black Book integration for evaluating fair market price
• Enhanced home page with number of vehicles available across all auction channels
• More convenient mobile site
• Dedicated help site for ongoing support

“Our technology group worked closely with the ADESA auction operations team to create an exceptional remarketing platform for our customers,” said OPENLANE president and CEO Peter Kelly. “I can't thank everyone enough for all of their hard work.”

ADESA emphasized that this launch is only for its U.S. operations, but noted that there are similar changes in store for the ADESA.ca website. Canadian customers can expect to see those later this year.
