SEATTLE -

Auto Remarketing has learned that AuctionEDGE has made yet another purchase, as the quickly expanding company has now added Auction Software Inc. to its acquisition list.

The purchase of ASI was announced today. It follows the company’s previously announced acquisitions of AuctionPipeline and AutoLookout.

And with its latest move, AuctionEDGE officials say the company is “solidly positioned to serve and rapidly evolve the technology needs of auctions and remarketers well into the future.”

ASI has been providing auction systems to the independent auction community since 1999, and it augments the technological offering brought to AuctionEDGE from the previous two transactions.

AuctionPipeline, as most know, is a 61-member network of auctions that share technologies and inventories. Meanwhile, AutoLookout offers independent auctions help in building a Web presence “while improving their businesses through technology,” officials noted.

“At its core, AuctionEDGE is a technology company, committed to providing a state of the art integrated technology platform that allows dealers and remarketers to simply and reliably take advantage of the offerings and unmatched service levels of the most successful and respected independent auto auctions in America,” stated AuctionEDGE chief executive officer David Weld.

“We often hear from dealers and remarketers that they enjoy the personal service, the consistent follow through and the accountability of the independent auctions, but one hassle they sometimes report is the lack of standardized interface and the lack of robust inventories online. AuctionEDGE will provide such a standardized interface for the independent auction community,” he continued.

As it stands, there are more than more than 120 independent auctions in AuctionEDGE’s "growing" network.

ASI’s Ron Ball added: “I’ve been in the industry and have had a passion for the auctions ASI serves for over 13 years. My wife Sandy and I have carefully sought our exit strategy, and we wanted to make sure that ASI would land in a place where it would continue to evolve and serve the industry.

“AuctionEDGE is exactly that place. We could not be happier or more confident that ASI, its employees and customers are in good hands,” he concluded.
