NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Direct Auction Services announced today it has named a president. Appointed to the position is David Young, who was most recently senior market vice president at Manheim, where he headed up auction operations in South Texas and the Gulf Coast.

“We are delighted to welcome David Young to the Direct family of businesses as the company’s president,” said Direct Auction Services chief executive officer David Nutter, who made the announcement.

“He is a respected industry veteran with proven results in team development and leadership, who brings tremendous skill and experience to this key position in our company,” Nutter continued. “We are excited to be working with him as we expand our customer base and services.”

Young’s career in corporate auction management goes back 25 years. His time with Manheim also included roles as group vice president and regional vice president for Florida. Before Young came aboard at Manheim, he served as vice president of operations at ADT Automotive.

“I am thrilled to join the team at Direct Auction Services,” said Young. “David Nutter and his team have established a family of thriving businesses (Direct Reconditioning Services LLC; Auction Tires Online LLC;  Roadrunner LLC) offering an important service to the auto auction community and remarketing industry.

“With a business model that has led the company to become the fastest-growing provider of outsource services in the country, Direct is poised to implement strategic expansion, and I am excited to get to work building its market position in the industry.”
