NEW STANTON, Pa. -

The Angelicchio family, which owns Pittsburgh Auto Auction, has announced an agreement to purchase the assets of Winchester Auto Dealers Exchange. This move will be done through a newly formed corporation, Winchester Auto Auction Inc.

The newly acquired auction will eventually enroll in National Auto Auction Association membership and apply for ServNet membership in coming months, as well.

Winchester Auto Auction,  located in Bunker Hill, W.Va., on the border with Virginia, has operated as a public auction for more than 12 years.  Starting April 11, it will begin holding dealer-only auctions on Fridays, following extensive renovation and system updates.

It will continue hosting weekly Saturday public sales through the end of March. Then, starting May 17, it will switch over to hosting public sales on the third Saturday of each month.

Dave Angelicchio, chairman and chief executive officer of PAA, said: “We are very excited to announce the acquisition of Winchester Auto Auction. The auction is well located on I-81 in a large and growing market and has great opportunity for further expansion.

“My family has owned and operated the Pittsburgh auction for over 35 years, and we are confident that our extensive auto auction experience will help to develop Winchester Auto Auction into a premier operation for dealers and commercial accounts,” he continued.

“As with our Pittsburgh operation, we intend to enroll the auction in both the National Auto Auction Association and apply for membership to ServNet in the coming months,” Angelicchio added. “The auction will also use AuctionACCESS and integrate with both an auction operating technology system and AutoIMS.”
