CARMEL, Ind. -

Revealed earlier this week, community betterment organization United Way of Central Indiana  recognized KAR Auction Services for its participation in the Live United campaign.

This campaign is designed to encourage companies to “give, advocate and volunteer to improve their local community,” officials explained.

And this was KAR’s first time taking part in the Live United effort.

That said, the company recruited a significant 117 new contributers for the UWCI’s annual fundraising effort.

And in recognition of this feat, during the UWCI’s annual meeting on Tuesday in Indianapolis, KAR was named as an honoree for the “Largest First-Time Workplace Campaign” award.

Commenting on the news, KAR Auction Services chief executive officer Jim Hallett, said, “It is an honor to be recognized by such an amazing organization like the United Way.

“Community involvement is one of our core values, and I want to thank everyone for their contributions to this campaign,” he added.

Highilighting the non-profit in more detail, UWCI has “supported innovative, practical and efficient agencies and programs in order to address local needs” for over 90 years, the organization shared.
