Following relaxed trade laws and a beta launch that underscored significant consumer interest in the segment, EVSearch has debuted its Chinese EV Discovery Centre.
This new hub offers vehicle specifications, estimated pricing for Canada, expert reviews and model comparisons, and is designed to integrate seamlessly into EVSearch’s overall digital ecosystem.
EVSearch, which offers an electric vehicle research and discovery platform, said it has seen “an unprecedented spike in organic consumer interest” in EVs made by Chinese automakers.
After quietly beta launching the Chinese EV Discovery Centre, EVSearch said that Chinese EV content on the platform has generated more than 130,000 page views from more than 25,000 Canadian consumers.
Shoppers have submitted close to 750 high-intent vehicle requests through EVSearch, asking about local availability, pricing, test drives and reservations.
Ontario and British Columbia are leading the pack in terms of subscriptions to the EV platform, which have spanned all of Canada’s provinces the company said. The most requested Chinese EV brands are BYD, Chery, Zeekr, and XPENG

“Our data proves that Canadians are actively vetting these vehicles well before they arrive in local showrooms,” EVSearch founder and CEO Behzad Mohajer said in a news release.
“With major global manufacturers confirming Canadian launch timelines for late 2026, consumers are actively seeking independent, unbiased data to compare their options.”
Canada has made what EVSearch called an “historic trade pivot,” with the 100% surtax replaced by a 6.1% tariff. That applies to an initial annual quota of 49,000 Chinese EVs expected to reach 70,000 in within five years. Most of that is reserved for vehicles less than $35,000 (CAD), the company explained.
